Disney Theatrical Group and the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC) have added a new matinee performance of Disney’s THE LION KING on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 1 p.m. This additional show extends the limited three-week engagement running from May 20 to June 7, 2026, with the official opening night on May 21 at 7:30 p.m. The musical will present a total of 24 performances in Providence, including evening shows on Tuesdays through Saturdays and matinees on select Thursdays and Sundays. Tickets for the new performance are available at the PPAC box office, by phone, and online, with group sales and special merchandise packages also offered.

THE LION KING, North America’s longest-running and most-attended Broadway tour, has been delighting audiences for over 23 years, with more than 25 million attendees across 90 cities. The production, produced by Disney Theatrical Group and directed by Andrew Flatt and Anne Quart, is part of the Encore Series subscription at PPAC. The musical has won six Tony Awards and numerous other honors, featuring a score by Elton John, Tim Rice, and others, and remains a global theatrical phenomenon with multiple productions worldwide.
