Conferencia Pell 2026 Sobre Artes Y Humanidades: El Artista Y La Revolución

The 2026 Pell Lecture on Arts & Humanities, titled “The Artist and the Revolution,” will take place on April 22, 2026, at The Pavilion at Grace in Providence, Rhode Island. The event, free and open to the public, features a keynote lecture by Camonghne Felix, a National Book Award longlisted poet, writer, and former political strategist. Felix will discuss how poetry and politics intersect as tools for resistance, strategy, and survival. The evening includes a dialogue with April Brown, co-director of the Langston Hughes Community Poetry Reading, poetry performances by Sussy Santana and Justice Ameer, and drumming by Yoruba 2. Remarks will be given by Providence Mayor Brett P. Smiley, along with community reflections from City Chief of Staff Emily Ward Crowell, youth leaders from the Providence Student Union, and Langston Hughes co-director Kai Cameron. Supported by the Rhode Island Semiquincentennial Commission and local partners Symposium Books and Suya Joint, the event encourages participation from all who seek to influence social change. Felix’s book, Let The Poets Govern: A Declaration of Freedom, will be available for purchase. Registration is required.

La conferencia anual Pell Lecture on the Arts & Humanities 2026, titulada “The Artist and the Revolution”, se realizará el miércoles 22 de abril en Providence, Rhode Island. Organizado por ACT y con apoyo del Rhode Island Semiquincentennial Commission, el evento busca destacar la importancia de la participación colectiva en espacios de cambio social. La poeta y escritora Camonghne Felix, incluida en la lista larga del National Book Award y exestratega política, ofrecerá la conferencia principal, explorando cómo la poesía y su política pueden ser herramientas de resistencia, estrategia y supervivencia.
