WaterFire Providence has announced an open call for artists to participate in America, Unfinished?!, a large-scale group exhibition running from July 2 to August 30, 2026, at the WaterFire Arts Center in Providence, Rhode Island. The exhibition will occupy a 15,000-square-foot industrial space and aims to explore America as an ongoing and evolving project, inviting artists to submit works that address themes such as labor, migration, identity, memory, civic life, and material culture. Both emerging and established artists working across various disciplines—including installations, performance, media-based projects, and site-responsive work—are encouraged to apply. The exhibition seeks works that foster shared experiences and collective reflection. Applications are open to individuals and collectives locally, nationally, and internationally, with a deadline extended to April 19, 2026. Selected artists will receive exhibition space, technical support, documentation, and marketing exposure, while being responsible for transportation and insurance of their work. The WaterFire Arts Center, housed in a former industrial building, supports community engagement through arts programming and serves as a significant cultural venue in Providence.
