Reverie Theatre Company’s production of Lulu Raczka’s dystopian thriller A Girl in School Uniform (Walks Into A Bar) offers an unsettling reflection of contemporary anxieties. Written in 2016, the play imagines a world plagued by mysterious blackouts during which women disappear, creating a society sliding into chaos. The story centers on Steph, a privileged private-school student, and Bell, a working-class barmaid, whose uneasy alliance evolves amid growing external hostility. Directed by Riley Nedder in his confident debut, the staging embraces the play’s fragmented rhythms and tonal shifts, immersing the audience in the characters’ disorientation.
