PPAC and Keri Anne O’Donnell Memorial Fund Announce Recipient of the Outstanding Greeter Grant

The Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC), in collaboration with the Keri Anne O’Donnell Memorial Fund, has awarded the 2026 Outstanding Greeter Grant to Carolyn Richer, a senior at Portsmouth High School. Richer is a participant in PPAC’s High School Greeter program, which involves students aged 15 to 18 welcoming patrons before shows in the Taco and The White Family Foundation Broadway Series. The grant honors students who demonstrate dedication and enthusiasm in their volunteer roles. Established by the O’Donnell family in memory of Betty Benedetti, a longtime coordinator of the Greeter program and Senior Marketing Assistant at PPAC, the grant recognizes contributions to the program’s success. Frank O’Donnell, president of the Memorial Fund, highlighted the program’s positive impact on social skills and theatre appreciation, as experienced by his own children. PPAC’s Director of Marketing, P.J. Prokop, praised the program for fostering welcoming interactions with patrons. Richer expressed gratitude for the recognition and enjoyment of her role. The Greeter program also offers students community service hours and opportunities to attend performances. Applications for the next season are now open.

Este reconocimiento distingue a un estudiante comprometido con el voluntariado y que muestra entusiasmo al recibir a los asistentes en el programa High School Greeter de PPAC. Los jóvenes voluntarios, de entre 15 y 18 años, dan la bienvenida a los espectadores en el vestíbulo antes de las funciones de la serie Broadway de Taco y The White Family Foundation, entregan programas y responden preguntas, mejorando así sus habilidades sociales y confianza. La beca fue creada por la familia O’Donnell en honor a Betty Benedetti, asistente de marketing senior y coordinadora del programa durante muchos años.
